sltourist After reading “The Unofficial Tourists’ Guide to Second Life”, I was amazed by the number of “touristic” places to visit in Second Life, and by the fact that the authors of this book have written this book as a traditionnal touristic guide.

I have just published a review of this book and of the most surprising places in Second Life here on Tech It Easy

What do you think about this rapid creation of such an elaborated virtual world, which now offers touristic places, sports, cultural activities, etc… ?

simpsons I promised myself not to make duplicated content on this blog, but in this case, even if the whole blogosphere has already created a Simpson avatar, I couldn’t resist it. Especially since Béa challenged me to do it in the comments of the previous article

So here she is, isn’t she cute? In case you haven’t noticed yet, I love avatars and I love purple!

And finally, just a quick poll to see if my readers are fans of The Simpsons or not:

After my cute Voki, I wanted to test Gizmoz, which is another avatar app with better personnalization tools (3D + upload of your own picture). Sincerely the result is amazing (and I kind of like this hair cut, not that I will try it for real!), except that… I scare myself !!!! So I won’t change from Voki to Gizmoz, unless I want my readers to be so afraid that they will be forced to read… ;-)

My friends love when I make them discover fun applications, but I am sure they will love it more if they can play with my little head… For English speaking people, you just have to throw me on the bubbles to gain points, nothing really intellectual here  ;-) …. Enjoy guys, and please put your points in comments!

And just because I love the US, I also wanted to be for one day a funny Statue of Liberty:

I know this is ridiculous, but I have really laughed thanks to this big red button, so I wanted to share it with you…  Thanks again to Michel Leblanc for making me discover it.

mur After having facilitated the creation of wikis, Wetpaint has just launched a great tool to foster collaborative Web art: Wetpaint Please Touch. You just have to grab one of the tools and pick a color and start your piece of art on a wall (I have always dreamt about doing that in real life). Then you will run out of paint, which incitates you to save your work and to send it (or just leave it in Wetpaint database) to let others contribute to it.

You can see here that it has produced pretty amazing things; it is both simple and fun, and I will love to see how my piece of art “Collaboration“ (the picture of this article) will evolve over time. Do not hesitate to contribute and modify it! After submitting it, I received an email entitled “Your painting has begun!”: it shows that it is really lively art, I can’t wait to see if there are enough people visiting to contribute greatly.

miniville Sorry for my English-speaking readers (according to my stats you represent 17% of my readers!) but I will comment on a French website, one of the most unuseful ones, but I really love it: with Miniville (Minicity in English) you create your online city in one click, and then you invite people to visit it. The more clicks you get, the more money you have to develop your city, and the more industries you can create.

Thanks to Fred Cavazza for having made me discovered it. But unlike him, who already has 200 inhabitants in his city, I have only 3 in mine, and of course no habitations as you can see! So if you have pity on me and want the city “Fidjissimo” to become a touristic destination, please click here to visit it!

As you may know it if you have read the page “About this blog and myself“, I will work in January in the investment fund of a French entrepreneur (Nate Cohen) in Miami.

Nate and his partner Yonathan Arfi have had the amazing idea of giving French artists access to the American market, thanks to their knowledge of French expatriates. With their company ARCO Prod, they have already managed Gad Elmaleh’s and Julien Clerc’s tours, and are now in the middle of Patrick Bruel’s tour, which has been a huge success in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

So if you are in Miami on Tuesday, on New York on Thursday or in Washington on Friday and want to spend a really cool night, go there to buy your tickets online!

Here is an amateur video of the show in Los Angeles:
